Battle for the Undercity

I'd been trying to burn through quests to get to 74, and qualifying for the quest to take me to Dalaran. Just another short-term goal to make the grind to 80 a little more tolerable. So imagine my surprise when my achievement window popped with -

Hmm. Wonder if that has anything to do with the epic quest people are always talking about?

Turns out it was.

The Ruk was hanging out in good company.

Still 73 though.

/grumble.

Another Hurdle Cleared

As of last night, Ding 73!

Note to self - remember to turn on screenshot capture addon so I can "catch the moment" as it happens.

The Ruk is still a BM Hunter. I haven't seen any reason to change him, and really there isn't any need to change while leveling up. There's no DPS chart to top when you're the only one on it.

Next step for Ruk? I think he's going to have to do some farming tonight. Those epic flying mounts aren't going to buy themselves, and most of the greens I put up on the AH just don't sell worth a darn.

It's early, I'm tired, and I can't think of anything to write about at the moment.

BM and Survival Spec

Late last night I tried the difference between BM and SV specs. I tried it at the training dummy in Orgrimmar, using a Wasp. Simply changed from a 51 point BM to a 51 point SV. All I did was shot rotations, and SV came out ahead. Will I change specs? SV damage is bursty due to crits, and I doubt any pet could hold threat over that spiked damage, so I'll keep levelling with BM for now.

Ding 72! Ditched the wasp (again) and levelled up the pets to 71.

A True Grind, Finally!

Well this actually feels like work.

I'm only halfway through 71. I've probably completed a good 20-30 quests, and I'm still in Howling Fjord. In the grand scheme of things, six hours probably isn't that long. I've just been spoiled by the 60-70 run through the Outlands. I'm considering taking a slight break and working on my Leatherworking, but I'll take it day by day.

One Left Behind

Level 70 was actually pretty good to me. It let me get all my pets caught up to me, as well as getting my cooking to a point where I have to get recipes from higher level zones.

Correction on one point - my Devilsaur remains at 65. Why? Because now that we've hit 71, there's a Devilsaur in Netherealm that is 71 that we can tame. I suspect that I should keep an eye on that one, because once patch 3.0.8 rolls through it might be my best dps pet until the (fingers crossed and prayers said) spirit beast.

Finally...

... the Ruk has hit 70. Pics to follow.

Edit: Well...

I may decide to get the addon that screenshots when I ding, but since I'm now part of the 70-80 grind I don't see any rapid-fire dingage anytime soon. To be honest, I feel like scaling back my playtime with The Ruk. I guess hitting 70 was one of the main goals, and now I just want to take a breath and poke around with maybe some other characters.

But who knows what the future holds.

All I know right now is that it's colder than Northrend outside (-44c with the windchill) and I'm not looking forward to leaving the house. In fact, I'd rather crawl back under the warm blankets in bed and sleep until noon.
